Ear candling employs hollow tubes made from linen hardened with beeswax and suffused with honey and herbs. These ‘candles’ are carefully placed in the ear and lit and allowed to burn, which vapourises their ingredients, generating mild heat and suction. The treatment is very relaxing. This process softens and loosens compacted earwax and gently normalises disturbance or congestion of the inner ear, which can give relief from sinus problems, tinnitus and vertigo.
